Detailed Description

The five letter DNA alphabet of A,C,G,T and the unknown character N.

Note that you can assign 'U' as a character to dna5 and it will silently be converted to 'T'.

Like most alphabets, this alphabet cannot be initialised directly from its character representation. Instead initialise/assign from the character literal or use the function seqan3::dna5::assign_char().

int main()
{
using seqan3::operator""_dna5;
seqan3::dna5 my_letter{'A'_dna5};
my_letter.assign_char('C');
my_letter.assign_char('F'); // unknown characters are implicitly converted to N.
if (my_letter.to_char() == 'N')
seqan3::debug_stream << "yeah\n"; // "yeah";
}
constexpr derived_type & assign_char(char_type const c) noexcept
Assign from a character, implicitly converts invalid characters.

debug_stream_type debug_stream
A global instance of seqan3::debug_stream_type.

◆ operator""_dna5() [1/2]

dna5_vector operator""_dna5 ( char const *  s,
std::size_t  n
)
related

The seqan3::dna5 string literal.

Returns
seqan3::dna5_vector

You can use this string literal to easily assign to dna5_vector:

int main()
{
using seqan3::operator""_dna5;
seqan3::dna5_vector foo{"ACGTTA"_dna5};
seqan3::dna5_vector bar = "ACGTTA"_dna5;
auto bax = "ACGTTA"_dna5;
}

◆ operator""_dna5() [2/2]

constexpr dna5 operator""_dna5 ( char const  c)
related

The seqan3::dna5 char literal.

Returns
seqan3::dna5
